Built by us,

for us

Carnarvon Common Ground Project is built for us, by us so we can make a stronger and safer community, together.

Founded by locals, who listen and work together to create real change in healthcare, education, justice and wellbeing.

What we do

Work with service providers to offer better health, education, justice, and wellbeing services.

Work with partners to develop programs that support families and youth and help them to stick around when they work.

We listen to our community and get them to guide the conversation for a better and safer town.

Join us on this journey by sharing your thoughts, becoming a member or just showing your support!

Our Artists

Respected member of Carnarvon Common Ground, Devinia Wainwright collaborated and mentored Theonie McKenna to create the artwork for the Project. This piece tells the story of our community walking together toward a shared future. It represents the Common Ground as a place where services and community unite to provide support, guidance, connection, and healing for our youth and families.

The river meeting the sea – a landmark of Carnarvon -symbolises peace, grounding, and our deep connection to spirit and ancestors who walk with us every day. Our lands and ocean sustain us with traditional foods like mullet, kangaroo, and turtle, keeping us strong and healthy while preserving our culture for generations to come.

Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge and pay our deepest respects to the Yinggarda people, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live and work. We honour their enduring connection to Country, culture, and community, and we pay respect to Elders past, present, and emerging.

We also recognise the important contributions of other language groups who enrich this region, including  Baiyungu, Malgana, Thadgari, and Thalanyji peoples. Their wisdom and guidance continue to shape the Carnarvon Common Ground Project.
